About Wall-to-Wall Carpet Cleaning

How well your carpet responds to wear, usage, sun-fading, cleaning, and stain removal depends primarily upon two things:

  • What Fiber Material it is Made of
  • How Well it is Maintained

Today, the fabric pile of nearly all wall-to-wall carpet is manufactured using one of three main fiber types—nylon, olefin, or wool—or of two less-common types—acrylic and polyester. Carpet experts at The Bright Side will be able to tell you upon simple inspection what type of fabric your carpet is composed of. This enables us to give you realistic answers on what results to expect from cleaning before the work has begun.

The Importance of Proper Carpet Preparation

A major component of a thorough carpet cleaning is pre-vacuuming. The Bright Side uses specialized high-powered equipment to rid your carpets of dust and dirt before pre-treatment. This allows the pre-treatment to be more effective without creating a mud-like mess from excess dirt and grime, which means a deeper clean for your carpets.

Water-Based is Best

Water is a universal solvent that most effectively and healthily dissolves common soiling. Water-based cleaning is incredibly versatile because of the wide variety of additives you can use with it, unlike dry cleaning processes. However, this doesn’t mean that most carpet cleaners know how to use the method correctly—they don’t! As in any service industry, the quality of the method depends more on the expertise of the technician using it than on any other single factor. 98% of all carpet cleaning companies use a form of hot water extraction—“steam” cleaning.  Furthermore, nearly all major carpet manufacturers – including Shaw Industries (the world’s largest carpet manufacturer with over 30% of the global market share in installed carpet) recommend this method. Contact us today to schedule a free in-home inspection and consultation of your wall-to-wall carpeting at no obligation to you!

Get The Most From Your Cleaning

To get the most out of your on-site carpet cleaning there are a few steps you can take before your Bright Side Cleaners arrive. When we show up for your in-home consultation we will walk you through our process and answer any questions you have about our process and practices. If there are any stains or areas of particular concern we will go over them in detail so we will be 100% ready on the day of your cleaning.

How to prepare:

The day of:
Our expert carpet cleaners will handle all the heavy lifting and that includes the furniture! But be sure the area is clear of all small objects. We’ll be showing up in our Bright Side Van so if possible keep a free parking spot close to the entrance.

Sit back, relax and Bright Side will take cake of the rest. We’ll go through all the steps starting with a thorough pre-treatment designed to loosen up, emulsify, and suspend embedded soils and to break down molecular bonds in the complex amino acids found in food grease, bodily fluids and waste, and all other organic matter for easier removal. Using a high quality pre-treatment formula reduces the need for aggressive scrubbing in order to remove contaminants. Modern pretreatment formulas are far superior to the old-fashioned carpet shampoos in that they are not only specifically formulated to combat the stuff that most commonly ends up in carpet, but they are also made with a light glycol base, so as to be more easily and thoroughly rinsed out, leaving no residues.

After the pre-treatment we use residue-free treatment solutions and a triple pass rinse extraction to leave your carpets fresh and clean.

Day After:
During the cleaning process we will be placing plastic and styrofoam tabs under your furniture, its best to leave these on for at least 48 hours to make sure everything is dry. If you need any help removing them we will be happy to assist at no additional charge.

Once your carpet is dry If you notice any areas that don’t look quite as good as they did right after cleaning let us know and we will come back and reassess. Sometimes stains caused by penetrating liquid spills such as coffee or wine will re-emerge through evaporation after trying.
Also if you’ve previously had your carpet cleaned or used a home cleaner on your carpet it may require a second pass to neutralize. We want you to be happy with our work so if we need to come back, its at no additional charge to you.
